When I chose this breed or rather when it chose me back in 1999 I knew it will not be easy journey as Cane Corso in the UK was pretty much unknown

Cane Corso although an ancient race but as a relatively new breed was surrounded by much controversy and confusion

In the past Cane Corso was kept and bred mainly for it’s versatile uses and displayed varied looks depending for what type of work he has been used for

Cane Corso of today also demonstrates different types but this is due to personal preferences in breeding without any regard to the morphological and behavioural characteristics which vary hugely between the bloodlines

I my self have learned to accept the differen types of Cane Corso as part of the Cane Corso history!

And that is why as a Cane Corso Breeder I choose to follow the FCI Cane Corso breed standard as I respect the hard work of those who have opened the door which led to recovery of this amazing breed, but as Cane Corso lover I keep open minded and am closely involved with some amazing people interested in the “rustic” traditional Cane Corso and its working capabilities

I fell in love with the Cane Corso for it’s raw beauty and uncorrupted looks it’s intelligence and good nature and I will try my upmost to contribute to preservation of this wonderful breed although with the rise of the popularity of the breed and it’s recent success in the show rings we have seen huge rise in reproduction with subsequent loss of homogeneity of type

To have homogeneity of type we have to remember that we are dealing with recovery and reconstruction of the breed and that the gene pool of the dogs used for breeding is still very small

We should know the genotype of subjects used for breeding and that is why it is very important to know as much as possible about the bloodlines your animals come from but most importantly whether there are any known health or temperament issues associated with these lines

For me health and temperament are of upmost importance as if properly bred, Cane Corso  should be sound not only in body but above all in mind

I have spent many years researching this wonderful breed before I bought my first Cane Corso from an UK breeder

I can’t thank enough Kenny from Cane X Corso for giving me my first Cane Corso Tico

He is everything I hoped for and much more

This was the moment when I have decided once again to embark on the journey of dog breeding

Having been previously involved in the world of breeding and showing I am completely aware of the responsibility and enormity of this vocation and that is why I will only breed when I feel that I am looking at something which will forward the Cane Corso breed

I am very lucky to have help and support of some of the best breeders of Cane Corso here in the UK and in Europe and I am very honoured I can call them my friends
